LANCE CORPORAL W.B. GREEN NAMED

HIGHWAY PATROL DISTRICT FIVE TROOPER OF THE YEAR

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety today named L/Cpl. W.B. Green as the Highway Patrol’s District Five Trooper of the Year at the agency’s annual Employee Recognition Ceremony.

Green joined the South Carolina Highway Patrol in 1994 assigned to Spartanburg County until he was transferred to Dillon County in 1997. Green is a member of the District 5 CERT (Civil Emergency Response Team), Operation STOP team and works as a background investigator and field training officer. Green also serves as a member of the South Carolina National Guard.

 

"L/Cpl. Green is an extremely hard worker and consistently maintains an exceptionally high level of quality enforcement activity," said Highway Patrol Col. Ralph Mobley. "He assists the public in a prompt, friendly and professional manner."

Green is a 1990 graduate of Dillon High School. He and his wife, Elsie, have one son, William, 5. Green attends evening classes at Coker College, where he is working toward a bachelor’s degree in management.
