MARCIA ADAMS NAMED DMV EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety today named Marcia Adams as the Division of Motor Vehicles Employee of the Year at the agency’s annual Employee Recognition Ceremony.

Adams has been with DMV for almost two years. She is the Interim Field Administrator and in this capacity has assisted in developing a plan to diminish the backlog in several DMV areas. For example, the Titles Section now processes titles in one to two working days, which is a significant improvement over the former two-to-three month processing time. She also played a key role in the development of DMV’s new organizational structure and was instrumental in the development and presentation of the DMV’s status report to the Governor’s staff and other key legislators.

"Mrs. Adams is always willing to go the extra mile, no matter what task she is handed," said DPS Director B. Boykin Rose. "She has taken on many roles and duties and has done so in a professional and committed manner."

A native of Beaufort, Adams is married with two children. She and her family live in Irmo.
