COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety today named Wanda Uswa as DPS Employee of the Year at the agency’s annual Employee Recognition Ceremony.

Uswa has been with DPS for 21 years. She is the Assistant Field Administrator within the Division of Motor Vehicles. She has worked her way up through DMV in a variety of positions, from waiting on customers at the front counter and performing secretarial duties to working in a management capacity in her current duties as Assistant Field Administrator.

"Mrs. Uswa is a dedicated and dependable employee who works well with her co-workers as well as with the public," said DPS Director B. Boykin Rose. "She is very professional and knowledgeable, always willing to assist when needed, and will readily volunteer to perform additional duties."

Uswa and her husband, Michael, and son, Joseph Parks, reside in Columbia.
