FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS SIX KILLED

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS FEB. 4-6

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of six people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, February 4, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, February 6, at midnight.

Two people died in a head-on collision. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle. Two people died when one vehicle failed to yield the right of way. And one person was killed after being thrown from the car when it ran off the road.

So far this year, 87 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 72 at this time last year.
