DISTRICT 1 TROOPERS RUN TO RAISE MONEY FOR EASTER SEALS
COLUMBIA Troopers from the South Carolina Department of Public Safetys Highway Patrol District 1 will run more than 130 miles on April 20 to raise money for the Easter Seals Buck-A-Cup to Brace-A-Child 2000 fund-raising campaign.
About 25 troopers will divide into two groups, one beginning in Aiken and one in Bishopville, and run a relay from those towns to the State Museum in Columbia. On April 21, the group will run from the State Museum to Easter Seals on Farrow Road to deliver the check.
Between now and then, troopers will be accepting donations on behalf of the Easter Seals Buck-A-Cup campaign. If you would like to contribute to the charity, please make your check payable to Brace-A-Child and mail to Highway Patrol District 1 Headquarters, 1626 Shop Road, Columbia, SC, 29202. All donations must be received by April 21.
All DPS law enforcement including the Highway Patrol, State Transport Police and Bureau of Protective Services, will be selling Buck-A-Cup buttons between now and April 20 to help raise money for Easter Seals. For more information, you may contact Capt. Neil Paul, State Transport Police, at 896-5500.
