SC DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCES ACE LIGHTNING BOLT AWARD WINNERS FOR 1999
COLUMBIA - The South Carolina Department of Public Safety has announced the winners for the 1999 ACE Lightning Bolt Program. The awards were presented in a ceremony at the Criminal Justice Academy on April 14.
The Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Program is an officer recognition incentive program for all law enforcement agencies in South Carolina. The overall objective of the ACE Program is to enhance public safety for all South Carolinians through increased traffic safety and increased criminal apprehensions. Officers participating in this program take time to look beyond the traffic ticket during a traffic stop. The South Carolina Department of Public Safety coordinates the ACE program to recognize proficiency and enforcement efforts of individual officers and their agencies.
Winners:
The award for an officer from a municipal law enforcement agency with a population of less than 10,000 went to: Lance Corporal Ken Kovarsky ~ City of North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Department.
The award for an officer from a municipal law enforcement agency serving a population of more than 10,000 went to: Corporal R. Scott Broome ~ Greer Police Department.
The award for an officer for a county law enforcement agency serving a population of more than 50,000 went to: Corporal Greg Carter ~ Anderson County Sheriffs Department.
The award for a law enforcement agency or entity with the most ACE Program points accumulated during 1999 went to: Greer Police Department.
The award for an Officer with the greatest number of ACE Program the points in the state went to: Corporal Greg Carter ~ Anderson County Sheriffs Department.
