FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS FIVE KILLED

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS APRIL 21-23

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of five people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, April 21, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, April 23, at midnight.

 

One pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorcycle as she tried to cross an Upstate highway. A bicyclist also died after being struck by a vehicle. Two men were killed in separate collisions when their vehicles hit trees. Another man was killed when his vehicle left the highway and crashed into a culvert.

 

So far, 321 people have died on South Carolina highways this year, compared to 284 last year at this time.
