FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS NINE KILLED

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS APRIL 28-30

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of nine people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, April 28, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, April 30, at midnight.

Five people were killed in three separate crashes when their vehicles left the road and struck trees. A passenger and driver died in another crash where the vehicle struck an embankment. Two people died in separate crashes where their vehicle left the road and overturned.

So far, 336 people have died on South Carolina highways this year, compared to 305 last year at this time.
