FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS SIX KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS MAY 19-21
COLUMBIA The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of six people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, May 19, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, May 21, at midnight.
One person died when a motorcycle collided with a vehicle. A pedestrian died after being struck by a train. One person died in a head-on collision. Another died when a person failed to yield. One person was killed after being ejected when her vehicle ran off the roadway. One person died when his vehicle was rear-ended.
So far, 403 people have died on South Carolina highways this year, compared to 363 last year at this time.
