FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS SIX KILLED

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS JUNE 16 - 18

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of six people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, June 16, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, June 18, at midnight.

Five people died in single-vehicle collisions; four vehicles struck either a pole or a tree and one vehicle overturned. One person died in a two-car collision when she pulled out of a parking lot into the path of an oncoming vehicle. So far this year, 488 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 451 at this time last year.
