FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS FIVE KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS JULY 21 - 23
COLUMBIA The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of five people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, July 21, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, July 23, at midnight.
Two people were killed when the vehicles they were driving struck trees and one person was killed when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving. One four-year-old girl was killed when the vehicle in which she was riding overturned into a creek. One ten-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. So far this year, 608 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 567 at this time last year.
