FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS EIGHT KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS SEPTEMBER 22-24
COLUMBIA The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of eight people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, September 22, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, September 24, at midnight.
One pedestrian was struck and killed. One person died after the vehicle in which she was riding struck a tree. One person died after hitting a fence. One person died after running into a ditch. Two people died when their vehicles overturned. Two people died after their vehicles were struck by other vehicles.
As of September 24, 763 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 774 last year at this time.
