FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS FOUR KILLED

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS OCTOBER 6 - 8

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of four people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, October 6, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, October 8, at midnight.

One passenger was killed after being ejected from a vehicle that had overturned. One driver was killed when his vehicle ran off a road and struck a tree. One driver was killed in a head-on collision with another vehicle. One driver was killed when her vehicle struck another vehicle and then struck a tree.

As of October 8, 820 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 823 last year at this time.
