COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces the following:

WHO: South Carolina Department of Public Safety, National Air Bag and Seat Belt Safety Campaign, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, state and local law enforcement officials from across South Carolina

WHAT: Statewide law enforcement briefing for South Carolina’s Click it or Ticket campaign, a high visibility, massive enforcement effort for violators of the state’s safety belt law. The campaign, which runs from November 20 through December 3, will involve more than 2,000 public safety checkpoints being conducted jointly by state and local law enforcement. It will be coupled with an intense public information and education campaign to inform the motoring public of law enforcement’s attitude and adoption of "zero tolerance" for safety belt violations.
