FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS SEVEN KILLED

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS OCTOBER 20 - 22

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of seven people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, October 20, at 6 p.m. through Sunday, October 22, at midnight.

Two of the seven people who died were involved in motorcycle collisions. Neither of those two was wearing a helmet. The other five people died in four separate vehicle collisions and not one was wearing a seat belt.

The total number of people killed on South Carolina’s roads and highways through Oct.22 is 856, compared to 871 killed at this time last year.
