FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS SEVEN KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS APRIL 6 - 8

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of seven people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, April 6, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, April 8, at midnight.

One pedestrian was struck and killed when an improperly parked vehicle rolled over her. Four people died in three two-vehicle collisions. In one of those collisions, both a husband and wife were killed and their two daughters were critically injured. Two people died in two separate single-vehicle collisions.

As of April 8, 228 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 285 last year at this time.
