S.C. HIGHWAY PATROL MAKES ARREST IN FATAL HIT-AND-RUN
COLUMBIA The South Carolina Highway Patrol today arrested Jerome Wallace, 4427 Blossom Street Apt. B5, and Robin Burkheimer, 163 Stanton Lane, West Columbia, in connection with an April 13 hit-and-run collision in which Sabrina Addison, 23, of Columbia, was killed and Eric Rivas, 21, of Hopkins, was seriously injured.
The Highway Patrol had warrants for Wallaces arrest yesterday and asked for the publics help in finding him. After receiving tips about Wallaces location, the Highway Patrol arrested Wallace and Burkheimer around 10:20 a.m. on Friday at a home in the South Congaree area.
Wallace and Burkheimer, both 20, are being held at the Richland County Detention Center. Wallace has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with death, leaving the scene of an accident with great bodily injury, driving under suspension more than first offense, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving too fast for conditions. He was also charged with simple possession of marijuana third offense and minor in possession of alcohol at the scene of the arrest.
Burkheimer was charged with accessory after the fact, simple possession of marijuana, and minor in possession of alcohol. Additional charges against others are pending in the case.
