COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces the following media opportunity:
Who: South Carolina Department of Public Safety and South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers’ Association
What: The annual South Carolina Police Memorial Service to honor all active and retired law enforcement officers who died in 2000. Law enforcement officers from across South Carolina and survivors of the deceased officers will attend. The public is invited and encouraged to attend the Memorial Service.
When: 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 2
Where: Criminal Justice Academy gymnasium, South Carolina Department of
Public Safety, 5400 Broad River Road, Columbia.
**2 p.m.: The Hall of Fame will hold a formal induction ceremony for those officers being inducted into the Hall of Fame for 2000 at the Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame rotunda.
