FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS FOUR KILLED

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS MAY 11-13

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of four people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, May 11, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, May 13, at midnight.

Two people died after their vehicles ran off the road and struck a tree. One person died after failing to yield at an intersection and pulling in front of another vehicle. One person died after losing control of his vehicle, running off the road and being ejected.

So far, 320 people have died on South Carolina highways this year, compared to 384 at this time last year.
