FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS NINE KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS JULY 6-8
COLUMBIA The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of nine people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, July 6, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, July 8, at midnight.
Three members of one family died when their vehicle ran off Possum Fork Road in Florence County, struck a bridge rail and submerged in the river. None of the three was wearing a seat belt.
As of July 8, 476 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 565 last year at this time.
