FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS SIX KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS JULY 13-15
COLUMBIA The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of six people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, July 13, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, July 15, at midnight.
Three people died in separate collisions when their vehicles overturned. One person died when his vehicle struck a tree then hit another vehicle head-on. A pedestrian died after being hit by an all-terrain vehicle. A motorcyclist died after being struck by a vehicle, then thrown from the motorcycle and hit by another truck on I-85.
As of July 15, 495 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 590 last year at this time.
