FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS SIX KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS JULY 20 - 22
COLUMBIA The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of six people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, July 20, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, July 22, at midnight.
One person was killed in a single vehicle collision in Clarendon County. A motorcyclist was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and slid under a vehicle in a collision in Anderson County. Two people were killed when their vehicle struck another vehicle and then overturned in Aiken County. A toddler that had apparently wandered into the road was struck and killed in Pickens County. One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Anderson County. None of the motor vehicle occupants killed was wearing a seat belt.
As of July 22, 516 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 613 last year at this time.
