FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS 11 KILLED

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS OCTOBER 26-28

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of 11 people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, October 26, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, October 28, at midnight.

Four people died after their vehicles left the roadway and struck a tree. One person died after her car hit a deer. Two people died after their vehicles overturned. Three people died when their vehicles struck another vehicle. One pedestrian was struck and killed while lying in the roadway.

So far, 827 people have died on South Carolina roadways this year, compared to 885 last year at this time.
