HODGES GRANT TO ASSIST IN TRACKING OF COLLISION
REPORTS AND TRAFFIC CITATIONS
COLUMBIA Gov. Jim Hodges announced a $514,860 grant to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, Office of Highway Safety, for the implementation of the South Carolina Collision and Ticket Tracking System (SCCATTS).
"One of the leading causes of death and injury for South Carolinians is traffic crashes," Hodges said. "This grant award will play an integral role in identifying and tracking traffic collisions and citations, thereby assisting police agencies in their personnel deployment and selective traffic enforcement strategies."
The grant funds are awarded to the state by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
