FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS TWO KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS MARCH 2-4
COLUMBIA The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of two people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, March 2, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, March 4, at midnight.
A 20-year-old man from Buffalo, S.C., died when his vehicle hit a concrete wall west of Union early Saturday morning. The man was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. The second fatality was early Sunday morning, when a 50-year-old Bishopville man apparently ran off Interstate 20 and struck a tree. He also was not wearing a seat belt.
As of March 4, 149 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 160 last year at this time.
