COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces the following event:

Who: S.C. Department of Public Safety and the Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame Advisory Committee

What: Grand re-opening ceremony of the S.C. Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame, which serves as a memorial to fallen officers and honors law enforcement officers throughout South Carolina. Previously called the Criminal Justice Hall of Fame, the facility was closed for more than two years for structural renovations. During that time the exhibit space also was updated. Twelve new exhibit areas tell the story of South Carolina law enforcement through artifacts, photographs and text.

When: 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 3

Where: South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame, 5400 Broad River Road, Columbia

Editor’s Note: An open house and facility tours will follow the ceremony. The Hall of Fame is free and open to the public from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for state holidays. Guided tours are available for classes or groups, not to exceed 50 people including chaperones. Tour arrangements should be made a minimum of two weeks in advance.
