DMV PARK STREET MOVING SOME PARK STREET SERVICES TO SHOP ROAD
COLUMBIA - The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces that a number of Division of Motor Vehicles transactions, which in the past could only be conducted at the DMV headquarters office at 955 Park Street, will now be relocated to the DMV branch office at 1630 Shop Road. Customer service for these transactions will be uninterrupted, ending Monday, Jan. 7, at Park Street and beginning Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Shop Road.
Examples of the Driver Records and Financial Responsibility transactions that will now be conducted at Shop Road include:
Approvals for temporary alcohol, route-restricted and provisional driver’s licenses;
Copies of accident reports;
Certified copies of driver records;
SR22 insurance services;
Suspension reinstatement fees;
Court certifications (certified copy of driving record - law enforcement only)
These transactions have always been conducted exclusively at DMV headquarters or by mail because of the complexity of the transaction. To better accommodate the public with parking and other space issues, DMV has decided to move those services to its branch office on Shop Road where they will be conducted at the front counter along with other standard DMV transactions.
