FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS EIGHT KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS APRIL 19 - 21
COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of eight people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, April 19, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, April 21, at midnight.
One pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision. Three people died in separate single vehicle collisions. Four people died in three separate two-vehicle collisions. None of seven motor vehicle occupants who were killed was wearing a seat belt.
As of April 21, 293 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 295 last year at this time.
