COLUMBIA - The State Transport Police, a division of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, has named Patricia “Trish” Ellison Burwell the Administrative Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2002.

Burwell, who has been with STP for one year, serves as an administrative assistant. The Manning native is an active member of Antioch Baptist Church where she sings in the choir. She and her husband, Gary, have three daughters, Tiffani, LaToya and Andrea. She is the daughter of Sadie M. Ellison and the late Rev. John E. Ellison of Manning.

Col. Anna J. Amos, deputy director of the State Transport Police, presents the awards quarterly to employees for outstanding achievement. The winners are selected by the managers in each particular area of operation.

The State Transport Police is responsible for the enforcement and administration of state and federal laws governing commercial motor vehicles.
