COLUMBIA - The State Transport Police, a division of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, has named George P. Taylor of Gaston the Employee of the Quarter for the Office of Motor Carrier Services.

Taylor has been employed as an auditor with the department for three years. He and his wife, Judy, have two children, Heath and Anna.

Col. Anna J. Amos, deputy director of the State Transport Police, presents the awards quarterly to employees for outstanding achievement. The winners are selected by the managers in each particular area of operation.

The State Transport Police is responsible for the enforcement and administration of state and federal laws governing commercial motor vehicles.
