FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS SIX KILLED
ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS MAY 17 - 19
COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of six people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, May 17, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, May 19, at midnight.
Two motorcyclists were killed after their motorcycle was struck by a car in Horry County. Two people were killed in separate two-vehicle collisions in Aiken County and Greenville County. Two others died in separate single-vehicle collisions in Cherokee County and Orangeburg County. None of the four motor vehicle occupants who died was wearing a seat belt.
As of May 19, 369 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 376 last year at this time.
