FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS THREE KILLED 

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS NOVEMBER 1 - 3

 

COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of three people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, November 1, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, November 3, at midnight.

 

A woman died Friday night in Charleston County when her car collided with another vehicle that failed to yield the right of way. Two men died Saturday afternoon in Newberry County when their pickup truck crossed the centerline and struck a tractor trailer head on.

 

As of November 3, 855 people had died on South Carolina highways, compared to 902 last year at this time. Of the 685 motor vehicle occupants who have died so far this year, 487 were not wearing seat belts.
