KIM MITCHELL NAMED DMV EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety today presented Kim Mitchell with the Division of Motor Vehicles Employee of the Year Award at the annual Employee Recognition Ceremony.

Mitchell has been with DMV for three years. She is currently an Administrative Specialist in the Court Orders section, where she is responsible for providing documents such as driving records and suspension notices to law enforcement agencies and courts for use in court proceedings. She also processes route-restricted driver’s license applications, making certain that the applicant meets the criteria for issuance.

"Ms. Mitchell is truly a team player and does whatever is needed to make sure the job gets done," said DMV Deputy Director David Burgis. "She has proved to be a real asset by assuming additional responsibilities during DMV’s current staffing shortage."

Mitchell, a native of Little Mountain, currently resides in Chapin with her husband, Christopher. She is a graduate of Mid-Carolina High School and attends Chapin Baptist Church.
