MEDIA ADVISORY

COLUMBIA - The South Carolina Department of Public Safety today announced that the Lexington County Division of Motor Vehicles Office is undergoing renovations that will last through February 17, interrupting some service at various times throughout the construction process.

The branch office, located at 122 Park Road in Lexington, currently houses the DMV branch office on one side and vacant office space on the other side, which was previously occupied by the Highway Patrol. The space will be expanded to add additional service windows, lobby seating, a more private area for driver’s license testing, and the Q-matic system.

The first phase of the construction began Jan. 5. Please advise your readers/listeners that services such as parking may be affected in the coming weeks. During the week of Feb. 10-15, there will be no road tests given. DMV customers are encouraged to visit another DMV branch office during this week http://www.scdps.org/dmv/temp.html.
