COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of five people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, February 18, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, February 20, at midnight.
As of February 21, 2005, 133 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 134 last year. Of the 108 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2005, 79 were not wearing seat belts. These are preliminary numbers and are subject to change.
