COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of two people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, April 22, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, April 24, at midnight.
As of April 24, 2005, 311 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 295 last year. Of the 244 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2005, 184 were not wearing seat belts. These are preliminary numbers and are subject to change.
