FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS NINE KILLED 

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS MAY 6-8

 

COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of nine people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, May 6, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, May 8, at midnight.

 

As of May 8, 2005, 360 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 348 last year. Of the 285 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2005, 212 were not wearing seat belts. These are preliminary numbers and are subject to change.
