SCDPS, COMMUNITY PARTNERS HOLD
FIFTH ANNUAL TROOPER ERIC F. NICHOLSON BLOOD DRIVE
COLUMBIA The South Carolina Department of Public Safety joined with The Blood Connection, Misty Nicholson, widow of Trooper Eric F. Nicholson, and Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc., to hold the fifth annual TFC Eric F. Nicholson Memorial Blood Drive today.
TFC Nicholson was killed December 6, 2000, while making a traffic stop on the frontage road near Woodruff Road and Interstate 85 in Greenville County. He was a regular blood donor and had given blood just two hours before his death. His wife, Misty, and The Blood Connection have worked together annually to hold a blood drive in his honor.
The new Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc., located at 1134 Woodruff Road in Greenville, has placed a granite marker in the landscaping at the store to remember Trooper Nicholson.
The wonderful support the community shows continues to amaze me, Ms. Nicholson said. We are so grateful to the Cracker Barrel for donating the beautiful marker to keep Erics memory and sacrifice alive.
The blood drive continues to grow each year with locations at Clemson University where Ms. Nicholson is a student and the new Cracker Barrel store.
