MEDIA ADVISORY

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces the following event:

Who:              The South Carolina Department of Public Safety, representatives from Harley Davidson dealerships around the state, and other motorcycle safety advocates

What:            News conferences to release trend that is developing in motorcycle deaths; to highlight safety in conjunction with the HOG rally being held this week in Columbia

and in advance of the next month’s Fall rally in Myrtle Beach

** Law enforcement motor units and/or certified motorcycle instructors will be on hand to demonstrate proper handling of motorcycles, safety hazards etc.

Background: The South Carolina Department of Public Safety has established a committee to study a rise in motorcycle deaths.
