COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of three people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, January 19, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, January 21, at midnight.
As of January 21, 2007, 41 people died on South Carolina highways, compared to 38 in 2006. Of the 38 motor vehicle occupants who died in 2007, 28 were not wearing seat belts. These are preliminary numbers and are subject to change.
