COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of two people killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, March 9, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, March 11, at midnight.
As of March 11, 2007, 147 people died on South Carolina highways, compared to 157 in 2006. Of the 121 motor vehicle occupants who died in 2007, 79 were not wearing seat belts. These are preliminary numbers and are subject to change.
