Summer HEAT Fourth of July Kick-off

What:           South Carolina’s 100 Days of Summer HEAT July 4th campaign. HEAT, or Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic, is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement mobilization.

 

Components of interest to the media include:

 

 

The SC Highway Patrol, Upstate law enforcement and Georgia agencies are teaming up to crack down on aggressive drivers along the I-85 corridor, which runs near the BMW plant and connects South Carolina and Georgia.

 

The I-85 mobilization is part of a statewide effort. Law enforcement agencies throughout South Carolina are stepping up enforcement during the 100 Days of Summer HEAT campaign. Highway deaths nationwide traditionally spike during the roughly 100-day period that begins Memorial Day weekend and ends Labor Day.

              

Directions To BMW Zentrum:

From Columbia, take I-26 West to I-85. Go south toward Greenville. Take exit 60 to SC 101. Turn right at traffic light, then left at the next traffic light to the main entrance of BMW. Continue to the Zentrum. From Greenville, take I-85 North. Take exit 60 to SC 101. Turn left at traffic light and turn left at the next traffic light to the main entrance of BMW. Continue to the Zentrum.
