South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) announces the following event:

 

WHO:             SCDPS in conjunction with the 5th and 11th circuits Law Enforcement

Networks, comprised of Midlands area law enforcement agencies

 

WHAT:           Sober or Slammer (SOS) Labor Day Mobilization Kick-off Event followed by a Multi-Jurisdictional Traffic Checkpoint

 

WHEN:           10:30 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2007

 

WHERE:        Lake Murray Boulevard (SC 60) at the Lexington/Richland County line

 

MORE INFORMATION:

This news conference and checkpoint will kick off South Carolina’s SOS, which corresponds to the national DUI campaign, “Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest.” Law enforcement agencies throughout South Carolina will engage in stepped-up law enforcement activities. In addition, SCDPS will air television commercial spots that emphasize the legal and personal consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol.
