FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS ONE KILLED 

ON SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAYS, JANUARY 11-13, 2008          

COLUMBIA -- The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of one person being killed on South Carolina highways from Friday, January 11, at 6 p.m. until Monday, January 13, at midnight.

 

As of January 13, 2008, 24 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 35 in 2007. Of the 19 motor vehicle occupants who died in 2008, 13 were not wearing seat belts. Through midnight January 13, 200, two motorcyclists and two bicyclists have died on state roads and highways. These are preliminary numbers and are subject to change.
