FATALITY REPORT: DPS REPORTS NINE KILLED ON

COLUMBIA -- The South
Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of nine
people killed on South Carolina
highways from Friday, June 13, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, June 15, at midnight.
As of June 15, 445 people had died on South Carolina highways,
compared to 483 last year at this time. Of the 336 motor vehicle occupants who
have died in 2008, 221 were not wearing seat belts. Through midnight June 15, 52
motorcyclists, 43 pedestrians and six bicyclists have died in collisions on
South Carolina
roads and highways.
