South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) announces the following event:

WHO:  SCDPS’ Office of Highway Safety will honor law enforcement agencies and officers from across the state for their efforts in 2008 to stop DUI in South Carolina and to support the victims of this crime. The keynote speaker for the event is 7^th Circuit Solicitor Trey Gowdy.

WHAT:  DUI Enforcement Recognition Ceremony:  Awards will be presented to individuals and agencies in the following categories:

• Officer of the Year (five categories based on size of agency)
• Rookie of the Year
• SC Highway Patrol Trooper of the Year
• Agency of the Year (five categories based on size of agency)
• SC Highway Patrol Troop of the Year
• State Transport Police District of the Year
• South Carolina Law Enforcement Network Award

Nominations have been submitted from around the state, representing the tireless effort that agencies throughout South Carolina put into DUI enforcement.
