As of November 1, 748 people have died on
Of the 565 motor vehicle occupants who have died
in 2009, 331 were not wearing seat belts. There have been 32 fatal collisions
where the use of seat belts is unknown.
Through midnight November 1, 74 pedestrians, 81
motorcyclists and 11 bicyclists have died on state roads and highways. The
remaining fatalities are the result of collisions involving an assortment of
vehicles such as mopeds or tractors.
