Each year, the SC Department of Public Safety holds the Annual Memorial Service for Highway Fatality Victims to remember the people killed in traffic collisions in the previous year. The event is usually held at a large local church to accommodate the hundreds of family members and law enforcement personnel who attend. This year’s service was held at Riverland Hills Baptist Church in Irmo in honor of the men, women and children killed on South Carolina roadways in 2009.
