(Formally known as the Drug Control and System Improvement Program-DCSIP)
Overview and Award Schedule
The purpose of the Formula Grant Program is to assist state
agencies and units of local government in carrying out specific programs which
offer a high probability of improving the functioning of the criminal justice
system. Special emphasis is placed on projects that advance national and state
drug control priorities. There are 6 authorized program areas from the Bureau of Justice Assistance that define the nature
and scope of programs and projects which may be funded. Sub grantees must provide 25
percent of total program cost in the form of a cash match, with the other 75 percent of
the amount covered by federal. The application due date for FY2008 funding is January 11,
2008 and grants will be awarded effective July 1, 2008.
