The Title V Local Delinquency Prevention program provides grants
only to units of general local government. Successful applicants must work
in partnership with local juvenile service agencies and must form a
Prevention Policy Board to develop a three-year plan for delinquency
prevention in the community. A match of one-third of the total project cost
is required and may be provided in cash or the value of in-kind services.
Projects are funded for one year with the possibility of continuation based
on year-by-year performance for a maximum of three years. FY2009 Title V
applications will be due March 17, 2009. Successful applicants will be
notified of their awards in August and the grant period will be from October
1, 2009 to September 30, 2010.
A series of free trainings is currently available for communities
that are interested in applying for Title V funds. For more information,
please refer to the description of the training process below.
